CNX Brand Product Questions

If you have more than one model, you could be confused with which firmware would be right for which receiver. The easiest way to distinguish them is by their file extension. Here are the file extensions for each model:2. What is the difference between Factory Firmware and Recovery LDR File?
Factory Firmware is an update file for your receiver which could be updated using an external storage device. Recovery LDR File is a recovery file to recover your receiver from malfunction of system using RS232 null modem cable. You cannot use external storage device to update your receiver with Recovery LDR File and vice versa.
3. I cannot get out of Menu screen.
If you are setting up the receiver for first time, performed factory default, or somehow all your channels have been deleted, then you will not be able to exit off from the Menu screen. In this case, just go to Channel Search under Installation to scan your satellite and save your channels.
4. In Channel Search under Installation menu, my satellite is set as “157W Echo 4”. Is this my satellite information?
No, this is not your satellite. It is the default setting of the satellite list. Highlight Satellite option and press OK to bring down the list of satellites and select your satellite.
5. How can I update my receiver?
You will need external storage device such as USB flash drive or external hard disk drive. Here are the steps to update your receiver:
6. My unit flashes “LNB-F” on front panel display.
If “LNB-F” is flashing on your front panel display, then your unit has been short-circuited. Please disconnect all cables and connections to your receiver to cool down the receiver. If “LNB-f” does not flashes anymore, then your unit is not damaged from short-circuit. However, if it still flashes, then please visit www.conaxtech.com for RMA request.
7. My unit will turn on, but I cannot get into Menu screen and front panel displays boot loader version (Ex: C107 or 10500).
The possible causes of these problems are updating corrupted firmware, problem with external storage device, powering off the unit while updating, and etc. However, you could still recover your unit with CNX Recovery Utility and Recovery LDR File.
